A word from Erin, the 'Chucky' costume creator:
I came up with my costume because my sons' father has wanted him to be chucky since he was born and I figured this year we better do it before he gets too big. We started by looking for a Chucky costume at the Halloween store and the only one they had was a horrible depiction in my eyes and had a mask with it,so not really artistic at all I decided I would make my own and though I'm not artistic I am a bit of a perfectionist so I had to have it as close as I could get it.
I had a pair of overalls which I got fabric from my mother to make the cuffs on the pants so I got as close as i could to what Chuckys' looked like with acrylic paints mixed with medium, ( also from my mother) and painted the lines on the fabric to match as good as I could,I also bought a white long sleeved shirt and painted the lines on that as well, after heat setting all of my painted parts I sewed the cuffs onto the bottoms of the pants, hot glued red buttons to cover existing ones, i googled the good guy words in images and printed off the best one I could find for the pocket, then took an exacto knife and made a stencil with a phone book cover then colored it in on the pants with a fabric marker and took a brush and carefully painted in the lines with that to make it pop more, I also googled a picture of a pattern for the designs on the bibs, printed it out onto iron-on paper and took the exacto knife to cut around the edges as good as I could and that's how I got the design on there.
For the shoes, my mom bought me a six dollar pair of white canvas shoes and I put duct tape on the places I needed to stay white and used the paints to paint the shoes red, then I took a thin sharpie, red, and wrote good guys down the shoelaces.
For his face I used make-up and stitches tattoos I had, that didn't turn out as well as I had hoped on account of our son not cooperating a bit, actually throwing a full on fit,for his hair I had bought some maroon colored hairspray. That is how I made my Chucky costume for my two year old son, Eli.
