A word from Crystal, the 'Clash of Clans Family' costume creator:
This costume theme came about when our son wanted to be PEKKA from the game Clash of Clans. My husband dressed as a wizard and I was an archer.
I built Pekka using football shoulder pads as the frame. I used a large roll of fun foam and cut pieces of armor and hot glued them to the shoulder pads. I used adhesive velcro to attach the abdomen and back pieces to the chest, and more velcro to attach the thigh pieces to the abdomen. I bought a viking helmet and spray painted the helmet piece and hand painted the horns with craft paint. I then taped the fun foam to the helmet to decide where to cut out the eyes and nose area. I used see through speaker fabric and attached it to the eyes and nose area. The pink eyes are just construction paper glued to the speaker fabric. Once everything was in place I glued it to the helmet. I bought arm armor pieces from a dollar store and glued fun foam to them. I made all the horns out of poster board and glued them on. The shoes are elf slippers spray painted black. I followed a youtube tutorial for a cardboard PEKKA sword but spray painted it silver and dark grey per my son's request.
The wizard: I bought a blue robe and my mom helped fold and sew the arms up and sewed white trim. The belt is made of felt and cardboard and I used gold duct tape for the gold. The fire ball is made of a push light covered with orange celophane and then wrapped with orange, yellow and red tule. It is hand stitched in a few pieces to hold it together (we tried double stick tape and it wasn't strong enough).
The archer: I bought a simple green dress and painted the green design on after marking it with masking tape. The cape is a long piece of green fabric that I bought to match the dress and it is attached with a safety pin and then covered by the brooch with double stick velcro. The gold pieces arm bands and brooch are made of gold duct tape. The rest was pretty easy with a pink wig and leather fanny pack. I cut and hot clued pink construction paper to the ends of the wooden bows (a kid's toy).
