A word from Katie, the 'Pop Art Comic Girl' costume creator:
Halloween is my absolute FAVORITE holiday!!! I wait in anticipation every year and always try to come up with the most creative costume idea I can and then make my costume by hand so it is as original as possible. This year I was inspired by art - Roy Lichtenstein to be more specific who is know is Pop-Art Comic Drawings/Paintings. I decided to transform myself into a real life comic girl. The make-up was key and took a very long time to put each individual dot all over my face and chest. I wanted the actual outfit to be very comic-like as well and decided to stick with the color-theme of red, black, white, and yellow using different abstract patterns - polka dots, stars, and solids. Then I found the perfect tights with stars and had to wear red shoes for the extra pop. Finally I got a wig and sprayed it bright yellow so it looked more like I was stepping off the page of a comic book. And what relaly finished the entire look off was my word bubble above my head with a a typical statement from one of Lichtenstein's comics - the downtrodden woman pining romantically after some man with a sad tone, of course... and wah la - my costume was born!
