WALL-E Costume

My 3 year old son Gavin is going as WALL-E this Halloween. We couldn't find anything at the store that he was interested in this year so we decided to choose one of his favorite movie characters, WALL-E! The costume is primarily made of cardboard along with cardstock, felt, and spray paint. I also used hot glue and a blue marker for details. First I cut holes in a cardboard box for his head and arms, then I spray painted the box with yellow, brown/rust, and black to get that authentic WALL-E look. The details on the front and the WALL-E name are made from cardstock. For the tracks, I peeled apart cardboard to get the right texture and then spray painted it black. I used toilet paper rolls to help shape the tracks by hot gluing them in the corners. I also used the hot glue to attach the tracks to the box. The eyes are made from a piece of 12x12 cardstock that I folded and taped. the front of the eyes are made of felt. To attach the eyes to his hat I used adhesive velcro dots. Because I already had the majority of these materials on hand the total cost for this costume was just under $10. I can't wait to see my little guy trick or treating in this costume on Halloween night!!
