Dia de los Muertos Costume

I wanted to challenge myself with this costume by 1st, transforming myself into a woman and 2nd, transforming that woman into wearing a 'Day of the Dead' costume. All of the items are randomly handmade. I bought the dress for $7 from a thrift store, then added glowing candles to the shoulders and dripped wax down the dress. The red shall is a curtain which I bought at the dollar store along with Christmas glitter flowers for the headpiece. I used a combination of face paint and acrylic paint for the make-up and glued glitter pieces to my face afterwards. I bought a ratty wig, ripped pantyhose, and fishnet gloves and wrapped battery-operated lights with wire into the headpiece so it would glow at night.

Overall, I did this costume because I thought it would be fun, unique, and something related to the mexican culture, which I love!!!
