A word from Matt, the 'Nevermore' costume creator:
The costume that I am wearing was loosely inspired by the poem "The Raven" by Edgar Allan Poe along with my own imagination. As for the background story of the costume, the main character in the poem is tortured by his own emotions after the loss of his wife. After attempting to get some answers from the raven that was perched upon his chamber door, he begins to go so crazy that, in his mind, he begins to transform into a raven. From then on, he begins to go out into the deepest hours of the night to kill innocent wives so that their husbands must endure the same emotions that he was forced through. In order to keep track of how many people he has killed, he chops off one of the victim's fingers and wears it on a necklace. (The story is somewhat of a sequel to Poe's original poem.)
