Raggedy Ann Baby Costume

This is my 16 month old daughter, Chancely Michelle Baker, dressed as Raggedy Ann and here's our story:

My Grandmother, who passed away in 2011, had several passions. Two of those passions I recall most vividly were dressing up for the annual Halloween Parade in our hometown and sewing. Not only did she dress up every single year, but she made sure my brother and I had homemade costumes.

Several months ago, I decided to dress my daughter as Raggedy Ann for Halloween this year. It was my sorority mascot in college. I shared my idea with my mom. A few weeks later, she handed me this dress and shared with me how my grandmother had sewed it for me (not as a halloween costume) when I was a little girl. It was meant to be. Two of my grandmothers passions collided as I dressed my little girl in a Raggedy Ann costume. I am so proud and I hope my Grandmother is too.
