A word from Liz, the 'Baby Rebreather Diver' costume creator:
I handmade Eleanor's (my daughter) costume. When I got pregnant, I was in the process of obtaining my trimix certification on the Titan rebreather (technical diving), it was then I decided that I would dress her up as a rebreather diver in a mini version of what I used to dive. It cost me approximately $40 and a good 8-10 uninterrupted hours (had to be after she went to bed) to complete her costume. Materials included a $5 black backpack, pink nylon webbing, sponges (weights on weight belt), acrylic paint (gloss black, green and silver), buckles (x2), needle and thread, mini peanut butter jar, pink foam for find, and empty washable paint bottles and a lot of creativity with what I could find around my house. In the end, I am extremely surprised with myself for how realistic it turned out!
