Blown up Jack Skellington Costume

My son is wearing the costume. He asked me if I could make him a Jack Skellington costume from the movie, the scene where Jack is shot from the sky and blown up. Designing and sewing a costume (something I've never done before) and then ripping and burning it to finish it off was scary to say the least, especially since my son insisted on using real velvet and suiting at a cost of over $200. I had to make a suit with a suit over it and then destroy only the outer layer when I was done. I then sewed the hat and beard to match Jack Skellingtons.
