DIY Mermaid Costume

My name is Lisa and I dressed as a mermaid this Halloween. I spent many hours designing and creating this costume. I am absolutely crazy about mermaids and have never found any nice costumes for one so I made my own. The shell bra was a white bra spray painted purple and embellished with pearls and jewels using hot glue. Pearl necklaces were draped under the cups and glued, as well as a starfish. I also placed real sea shells inside the cups for some coverage. I super glued a large starfish to a thick hair clip. My fin was my design and sewn for me by a woman I know. (It is somewhat difficult to walk in! Very mermaid like lol) My makeup consisted of glitter, glued on pearls and blue eyeshadow to create some scales :)
