A word from Michelle, the 'Battlebot - Witch Doctor' costume creator:
My 7 year old son is obsessed with the show Battlebots ( aired on ABC ) . They are Robots designed by a team and then battle in an area. This year all he wanted to be for Halloween is a Battlebot and he decide on Witch Doctor.
The costume is constructed of : Cardboard, Foam circles, paper plates for the wheels, purple and black fabric for the body, bolts added for effect, chain from a craft store, heavy construction paper, hot glue and gorilla tape.
The first step is to make the body and the front shield of the bot. I then constructed the spinner with foam circles and markers and glued them together with a cardboard circle between them. I cut a hole in he center where he will be standing through and covered it in purple fabric. I then added the wheels made out of paper plates and hot glued real bolts to them. I added the finishing touches with the ribs made out of construction paper and colored them with marker. I also added bolts around the whole costume for the robot effect and hands in the front of the costume just like the Witch Doctor bot. the total cost was about $25 -$30.
