This homemade costume for couples entered our 2016 Halloween Costume Contest.

My mother handmade my costume about 7 years ago and I have only worn it 2x since. We had the hardest time trying to hand make the panniers for the hips (slip for the hips). She is a seamstress but started to dabble into costume making about 10 years ago. I get many compliments on this costume because it is so original. My husband was dressed as King Louis XVI of France. His costume was mostly bought but had to be altered.
