X-Men Arcade Costume

I have wanted to build this for many years and finally had the time to try it out. I took measurements and pictures of a working arcade game and scaled them for my body. I decided it would need to be sturdy enough to hold the electronics, as this is a PLAYABLE arcade replication!

I built the frame out of pine. It's a nice, cheap, lightweight wood that's easy to drill and carry around. I lined the frame with 2 layers of cardboard and used some duct tape on the edges. I used spray paint with primer to cover it and polyurethane to seal it.

The electronics are basic. Everything is powered by a laptop, and the peripherals are powered using a USB 4 port hub. The screen is just an external monitor powered by USB as well. I put a USB fan in the top so I didn't die of heat stroke. The marquee was made of plexiglass. I used flashlights to light it up from behind.
