This homemade costume for men entered our 2017 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Jerry, the 'Flying Man Backpack' costume creator:
I am wearing the backpack (Jerry Hone) it took 6 months to build...cost $600 to make....uses a battery powered linear actuator to open the 12 foot wings....weighs 37 Lbs...blue lighted wingtips and emits smoke upon opening...wings are white canvas...struts are 7 ply plywood...,.idea is a cross from super hero/Leonardo Da vinci and Jules Verne...Bicycle chain and sprockets are used for drives...1920s look with headgear are used with backpack......(3 photos of Backpack are included)
