Mr & Mrs Edward Scissorhands Costume

Decided to do an 80's inspired costume with the lady. To keep it cheap, we created them ourselves. We bought the "leather" body suits and wigs online. Made the hands out of foam core and silver metallic paint. We attached the blades to some black gloves. To make the belts and other stuff to put on the suits, we bought faux leather material and cut it into strips and then wrapped the strips around strips of black bristol board to give the belts their shape and firmness. Then I used metallic gold spray paint on a bunch of buttons, rings and other trinkets to make the various accoutrements on the belts and other suit parts. For makeup, we used quality white paint makeup from a costume store (the cheap stuff isn't good at all) and also used some darker eye shadow for the eyes and contours. Black shoes for me and black high heeled long boots for the lady. The makeup was key to capture the slightly confused and sad look that is always on Edward's face.
