Peter Pan Family Costume

Our family decided to dress up as the characters from Peter Pan this year seeing the characters seemed to fit our personalities especially since our puppies ears are so long they may actually be able to use them to fly. My husband Jake was Captain Hook and I dressed up as Wendy. Our 1.5 year old basset hound siblings Lotus and Po were Tinkerbell and Peter Pan. And last but not least, Diesel our 12 year old chihuahua was Tick Tock the alligator who bit off Captain Hook’s hand in the classic movie. I started creating these costumes in August and came down the the wire the week before Halloween finishing the last costume 3 days before our family’s Halloween party. I purchased all of the supplies from my local fabric store and expanded my sewing pallet. I started sewing Peter Pan’s costume first, then Tinkerbell, then Wendy, and lastly Captain Hook. I had sewing patterns for all but modified them to make them more like the characters we wanted to portray adding details along the way. I purchased Tick Tock’s costume on EBay and my husband added the clock that he hand painted and added to the costume. Overall it was a big project but it paid off in the end! We had a great party and enjoyed dressing up as a family this year.
