A word from Jennifer, the 'Corpse Bride' costume creator:
My husband is "Victor" I am "Victoria" and our 3 year old daughter Emma is the Corpse's Bride "Emily" and we are from the Tim Burton film "Corspse's Bride." This is one of Emma's favorite movies and had wanted to be this for a whole year so we really wanted this to happen for her.
We used a dress she had worn at a wedding the year before. We were given a veil from an aunt, I bought the wig from Amazon for $13, we bought cobalt blue spray paint from Michael's craft store that cost $5 with a coupon. I already had some black and white felt and we used those to cut pieces that looked like rib bones and then we sewed that on the dress.
Michael my husband already a suit and tie and black dressy shoes and he used face paint and was very careful about replicating the eyebrows as that is a distinctive feature of "Victor".
I bought my dress from etsy.com for $21 and used my personal make up for my face and I put my hair in bun as "Victoria" did in the movie. We spent a total of $39 and took a total of 2 hours for us to get ready for Halloween day :)
