Valka from How to Train your Dragon 2 Costume

My sister, Pam, was gracious enough to sport this costume for me :-) There is a lot of detail to this costume. The pants, skirt, and jacket came from good will. Stripes were painted on the thighs of the paints, the skirt was cut, and craft foam was sewn on the jacket to create all the leathery look. Arm and leg bands were also made out of soft faux leather and craft foam. The red cape was an old fleece blanket cut on the bottom and touched with black spray paint on the ends to make it look charred. A faux leather belt was also created using faux leather and craft foam painted silver. The mask was made from paper mache and paper clay, and the stick was made from an old broom handle wrapped with material. Paper mache and paper clay were used to make the ends of the stick as well as cat toys spray painted white to make a jingle sound when shook. It was a blast making this costume and I love it! All in all it probably cost around $60 in supplies
