This homemade costume for adults entered our 2015 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Ashleigh, the 'Jellyfish' costume creator:
My roommate and I are both vet students. We originally were just going to be wear the blue man morphsuits because I already had the costume from my little brother. Then after hearing about other peoples' costumes we decided to make it something more than that/ animal related (channeling our inner vet).
How-to:
We took a foam board and cut it into a circle (traced a witch hat brim for size). Then glued (using a hot glue gun) a salad bowl on top and cut a hole for our heads under the of the salad bowl. We then stuffed it with newspaper (using a lot of tape) and covered it with fabric. We used battery powered LED lights and taped it to the fabric. Then we layered a transparent-ish fabric over the lights so that they can shine through. Then we just cut fabric into strips and glued them to the bottom of the foam board.
Total cost: ~42/person
$6 for lights (last minute Amazon purchase)
$13 fabric
$1 salad bowl
$2 foam board
$20 blue man suit
