This homemade costume for adults entered our 2013 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Juan, the 'Kool Aid Man' costume creator:
Ohh yeeahhh! Behold the koolest halloween costume ever built, Kool Aid Man! I initially looked online to buy one but I couldn't find it anywhere. So I had to resort to Plan B, build it. So here you have it. Here's how I made it.
Materials used: Hula Hoops, Cardboard, zip ties, tape, foam spray, joint compound, red & white paint, wire mesh, plastic jug, LEDs, Red long sleeve shirt, red sweat pants, red socks, and red gloves.
The hardest part of the costume is to shape it to your body height and size. I knew I couldn't simply make holes in Kool Aid's mans face so I had to make sure my head was just high enough for me to peek out from the top. To disguise my head, I came up with Icecubes which were made out of a few boxes. I cut a whole and place wire mesh so I can't paint over it. The clothes I bought on Amazon. In total, I think I spent a little over $100. There's a bunch of stuff that I bought that I didn't return so I'll be heading to the hardware store soon to return it.
