Chiquita Banana Lady Costume

Ever since my daughter was one years old, she would dance. If a song came on she would sway from side to side. She reminded me of the Chiquita banana lady. I thought it would be so cute to dress her up as Carmen Miranda for Halloween, I thought this would be a great opportunity. The funniest part is that she loves to wear the costume with her fruit hat. When she look in the mirror and I put the music on she dances and she looks exactly like Carmen Miranda. It was a very hard process from picking the material to sowing. She would not stay still for anything especially to take measurements and to try on. The hat was a big project in itself. I searched I believe five stores and I could only find the bananas at Jo Anne's. But at the end I love looking at her in her costume and most importantly she loves wearing it. This is a memory I will never forget.
