A word from Emily, the 'Willy Wonka and his Oompa Loompa' costume creator:
Elijah is wearing his willy wonka costume. The hat was made from poster board, a fabric bought from st. Vincent de Paul and cardboard. The jacket was sewn from a purple fabric with sheen as well as a felt material. His cane is made from wood and painted black with a gold top. I made the best from a flower material I bought second hand, as well. The bow tie was made from tan ribbon and attached to a stretch band to easily slip over his head.It is completed with a collared white button down, khaki pants and tan boat shoes.
Abel is in the Loompa Loompa costume. I upcycled a pair of 9 month white pants, added big brown buttons and the white suspenders made from a white stretch waistband material. I used a brown shirt that I painted white stripes on for the top. The socks are toddler brown socks painted with white lines with Pom poms hot glued to the toe part of the socks. I the finished the look with a front fountain ponytail (like an Oompa Loompa had) sprayed with green hairspray and his face painted orange with white eyebrows. For his trick or treat bag I recreated the "sugar bags" the Oompa Loompas empty to make the candy.
