This homemade costume for boys entered our 2015 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Bob, the 'DJ Sean' costume creator:
My son, Sean, age 10, birthday on 10/30; has special needs with a series of medical conditions. Wheel-chair bound. Sean likes music and wanted to make his costume special for birthday / Halloween. Saw other wheelchair DJs online a year ago. Created DJ costume with this year using:
- DJ T-shirt + bib with label "Sir Drool a Lot"
- One gold chain with large $ sign (bling)
- One hat with DJ graphic that lights up (mini battery operated)
- One set of headphones
- Card board box (went over plastic table that Velcro's to wheelchair
- Two vinyl records (used screw to secure; but allow them to turn)
- Two pie tins (glued with spray adhesive to top of box; poked holes in center for screw to hold records with a plastic cap)
- Two straws wrapped with aluminum foil with plastic cylinder holding them over records
- One small controller (borrowed from mobile DJ)
- Various pictures of Sean playing music on one side of box
- Two small speaker grills screwed and held with nut on back of cardboard
- Two large speaker grills screwed and held with nut on back of cardboard
- Stickers for lettering
- One mini colored disco ball that lights up and rotates (battery powered)
- String of strobe lights (battery powered)
-Blue tooth wireless speaker placed inside a small card box underneath; music controlled by mobile phone
