Garbage Man Costume

My son Everett LOVES the garbage man! He waits every week at the front window to watch him load our trash into his truck and squeals out when the guy waves at him. I thought how could we not make him his own actually trash can truck!
The base is made from a children's wagon which my husband surrounded in plywood cutouts to make it look more like a truck. He screwed in a thicker wood step in the back along with a handle so my son could ride on the back safely/comfortably. The front grill is a cardboard box with a decal on the front. The whole thing was painted to replicate our garbage mans truck. Reflectors and lights were added, including an inner dome light. There is also a dash board made from wood with working knobs to play. A stearing wheel and seat were salvaged from an old power wheels jeep. My son's outfit consisted of a kids safety vest and toboggan with logo added with fabric paint. He also wore leather working gloves. He had such a great time trick or treating this year as a garbage man!
