What an amazing costume!
How did you attach the fake legs to the costume?
And, is his shirt attached to the jet pack?

Fake legs are being held by front clips of suspenders. And yes, the shirt is attached to the front of the jet pack. I had cut out majority of the back of shirt. My son would slide head first into the bottom of the jet pack then reaching up and out and inserted his arms into the sleeves like a jacket. Thanks so much! I have the jet pack made and the "skirt of flames" finished. I am in the midst of working on the fake legs. Your response is so helpful!

Did you use a glue gun to attach the backpack straps to the jet pack? I am hoping that hot glue is enough to secure it.

I actually used tacky glue and then hand sewed the straps into the jet pack (cardboard). Let it dry overnight and it was very strong and durable after that. By all means, try using your hot glue gun. But I personallynever have been a fan of it. Although, it does work well with others.

I drew out silhouettes of my sons legs including feet as he laid his leg down on large flat cardboard. I then cut it out and placed it on flat styrofoam and cut out a total of four legs out of styrofoam. Lay one styrofoam leg down, apply glue, lay a second leg on top of cardboard, let dry. Do this for the other leg. Once dried, use a knife to cut edges of styrofoam to get realistic looking legs that are light to carry. All in all, you sandwich the flat cardboard with two styrofoams and then sit to shape for each leg. Slide them into pants. You may have to cut and shave off until you get it to look just right.

Flat cardboards are at Costco up and down their aisles for free. Styrofoam flats at Home Depot various thickness's at around 6 bucks.
