This homemade costume for boys entered our 2015 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Natalie, the 'LL Cool J' costume creator:
My son, CJ, is LL Cool J from the 80's. He is wearing a Kangol, LL's trademark, white jogging suit, with one of the pants legs up, and carrying a boombox. I purchased the gold boombox, bulky gold chain, bracelet, and watch from Amazon. I went to Michael's Arts and Crafts and purchased blue ribbons, blue and gold lettering, and a gold crown to add the stripes and embellishments to the jogging suit. I attached the stripes with double-sides tape and added the blue lettering and gold crown to white cardstock. I laminated the top of the cardstock and added double-sided tape to the back and attached to the jogging suit. I then glued the letters TROOP to his shoes, as LL Cool J was known for supporting the TROOP brand. I also purchased rhinestone stickers to make his diamond earrings. Lastly, I attached my tablet to the back of his boombox and played LL's top hits from the 80's.
