A word from Kayla, the 'Mad Hatter' costume creator:
My son is wearing the costume. I purchased his wig offline. All clothing came from thrift stores. He wore his rain boots. The pants were a pair of his sisters old ones that were khaki and i dyed them dark green and used masking tape and yellow spray paint to make the pinstripes. He is wearing a orange and tan checkered button up. A green vest and i bought his blazer from a thrift store. It was red but i bleached it then dyed it the green color and then painted the yellow over it. To make his bow tie i had a regular scarf cut a square and bunched in the middle to form the bow shape cut to rectangles and glued them to the back of the bow then cut a piece to go in the middle of the bow. I also but elastic on it to go around his neck. For his gloves i used a pair of pants and traced his hand then sewed them together right sides togther and then turned them right side out to hide the seams. I left them jagged around his fingers and wrist. For his hat i used a piece of poster board rolled into a cylinder tht fit his head with a lil room left for the wig. I took a piece of cardboard and cut a circle out a bit bigger than the cylinder. I then took fabric and glued it to the inside of the cylinder and stretched it over the outside to the top of the piece of cardboard. Then i took a piece of fabric cut into a circle and glued it into the cylinder then i added wire to form the brim. For his bobbin belt i cut a belt in half and used spools of thread.
