Mighty Thor Costume

Our son loves Thor. One morning I made him a Thor hammer out of an old box, paper towel roll, duct tape and foil wrap. He loved it and said he wanted to be Thor. So my husband went all the way...We used felt to make shirt, wrist cuffs and belt. Used duct tape and cardboard for helmet. Used cardboard, felt and velcro to make his boots. And I beefed up the hammer with duct tape and brown material I had at our house. Red cape was my husband's that his mother had made for him when he was 4 years old. Costume cost $20 or so and was a lot of fun to make!! We have vowed to never buy a store bought costume again. We were disappointed at lack of homemade costumes for kids...glad you are encouraging it!
