This homemade costume for boys entered our 2014 Halloween Costume Contest.

A word from Louis, the 'Stilt Spirit' costume creator:

Louis is 13 years old. He saw this character online and wanted to create for Halloween. He was given a 50$ budget and created this being using household items and 50$ in fabric/ mask. He used a glue gun and stapler as he didnt have access to sewing machine. In action it is awesome. Its head moves in an eery way and the light up eyes are so frightening. The homemade stilts add height and magnitude to the creature. Everyone gathers to see it when it appears!

Everyone that sees this on person is amazed that a 13 year old did it without any help.

It's great in this day and age to see a youngster spend time being creative and making something out of household items!!

The costume made by Louis Runco is not just a Halloween costume but a work of art and an engineering masterpiece for a 13 year old. Talent like this should not go unnoticed.
Not many 13-year-olds today have creativity coupled with artistic and engineering talents let alone be able to combine the three and produce outstanding works as the Stilt Spirit costume!

Louis's costume is by far the best costume is this category, and that's even before taking into account this was imagined and created by a 13 year old. Truly amazing. Louis deserves to win!!!

It's unbelievable that Louis made this costume by himself with a budget of only $50. It's amazing that at only 13 years of age he has such creativity and skill! We witnessed this costume in person and it looked like it came right off of a movie set! He truly has a special talent!
