Stormtrooper with Speeder Costume

Our son Wyatt, age 5, is dressed as a stormtrooper in his 74-Z speeder bike. His costume was designed to fit in with a Star Wars theme with our oldest son and our best family friends whose son's were dressed as authentic Ewoks. His costume was designed around his wheelchair which would allow him to actively participate in both the costume theme and the trick-or-treating activities!

A sheet of metal was used to build the base of the speeder, large wooden dowels were used to build the sides that held the weapons, fins, and steering mechanisims of the speeder. Small wooden dowels were used to make the controls and handles. The speeder was mounted on a piece of wood the slid under Wyatt's wheelchair and was tied to the back bars to keep him from kicking his feet and knocking it down.

He was quite a hit in our town parade!
