A word from Maria, the 'Transformer Decepticon Starscream' costume creator:
My 10yr old son Felix absolutely loves Transformers since they made the movies and this year he wanted to be Starscream from Revenge of the Fallen. I made this out of cardboard and cereal box cardboard for mask, I used gorilla glue, duck tape (black and grey), acrylic paint and box cutter and scissors. The total spent was about $30 and a lot of measuring and hours trying to figure out how to make it transform and hold up. I used a shoelace to hold the "wings" up and then pull the shoelace so it could go down when transforming. I probably spent around 40 hours. My son had all the confidence that I could make this costume but I must admit it was very challenging. I learned this is a Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor jet Thanks everyone :) There's a school picture - he didn't win though so he did get a little bit bummed out but he was ok.
