This homemade costume for couples entered our 2017 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Angel, the 'Groot and Yondu' costume creator:
Guardians of the Galaxy- Groot and Yondu.
We decided on Groot and Yondu because making the costumes would be unique and one of a kind. It’s not the normal couples costumes. The creator and crafter is Groot and husband is Yondu. Groot is a one piece bodysuit with crumbled brown paper attached that was painted in a darker brown color for contrast and moss added throughout for details. Groots face was painted on as well. Yondu’s fin is layers of cardboard, plastered then painted maroon with shadows and highlights. Bald cap was painted blue then fin added with Velcro and glue. Since my husband’s height is 6’4 it’s hard to find a jacket his size so jacket was sewn from a maroon sheet. I hope everything new enjoys these creative costumes.
