Oompa Loompas Costumes

My fiancee and I are both dressed up in these Ooompa Loompa costumes. The idea was from the original Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory movie. Basically I searched thrift stores and Walmart and found 2 brown long-sleeve shirts, 3 long white pants, 4 craft wooden buttons, 2 pairs of white stockings, 2 pairs of white gloves, 1 yard of brown & white striped material, 2 tubes of orange halloween makeup, 1 tube of white halloween makeup, and I ordered 2 original Ooompa Loompa wigs from Ebay. We used the 3rd pair of white pants, cut it up and made the suspenders. We used the 1 yard of brown & white material to make the turtle neck and the wrist cuffs, we sewed on the buttons in the front, we cut the gloves into short vs. long elbow gloves, we spent 1/2 hr putting on each other's makeup and we put it all together!! The total cost came out to be about $40 per full costume (including wig). On the internet a ready-made costume was over $60/costume & wig. It was such a hit! Everyone loved it :)
