Robo-Lovers Costume

Light-up robot couple costume worn by Riley & Calvin. These homemade robot costumes lit up the dance floor and were a big hit on strangers' Snapchat stories. The idea for the costumes came from a picture on Pinterest of a child in a robot costume- so we decided why not make a homemade adult version?

"How-to" instructions and supplies:
-big and smaller boxes found from local stores as the body and head (we had luck at the local pet store!)
-Silver gift bags from the dollar store used to cover the boxes (we used hot glue and super glue to apply)
-LED battery operated lights (also found from dollar store) to outline body
-Flame-less tea-lights (also dollar store) to light up eyes
-small plastic Halloween shot glasses as eye covers
-paintbrushes as antennas
-foam craft balls covered in tinfoil as top of antennas
-slinkies as electromagnetic wave in between antennas
-Red Solo Cups as ears
-black panty-hose used to cover mouth hole (stapled on the inside of box)
-flexible ducting for arms (found at local hardware store)
-tin pie plates for decorating the body (found at dollar store)
-printed pictures of gauges, gears, battery level glued on front

Although slightly difficult to move around in in crowded spaces, these costumes were so much fun and such a crowd pleaser!
