A word from Rita, the 'Batman, Robin and Poison Ivy' costume creator:
For the Batman costume (grandson Keith Jr.), I used black fabric and patterns to make the cape and costume top/bottom. I used faux leather for the mask/hood w/ears, gauntlets, belt and boots. For the Robin Costume (grandson Sullivan), I used red faux leather and glued it to the shirt then added red paint around the edges. I made the mask, boots belt, gauntlets and cape out of black faux leather. My daughter Jen was Poison ivy. I bought a bodice. After painting yellow around the edge of every ivy leaf, I hot glued them to the bodice. I took kelly green leotards and tie-dyed them. I purchased the wig and added some fake ivy to it. The eye pieces are made of foam that I painted. The cape was sewn by me. Total cost of all 3 costumes was about $180.
