Hocus Pocus Family Costume

Naturally our love for Halloween includes the annual Hocus Pocus movie marathon! This year, we decided to pay tribute to such a classic Halloween necessity. We purchased the three witch dresses, and sewed them to fit the girls. Mary and Sara’s wigs were purchased and styled appropriately. William Butchersons costume was made using an old suit coat and sewed black gauze and glued moss. An old white shirt was stained using ink and various dyes, and a cut up women’s ruffle shirt for the neck tie. We then took sandpaper to tear and rip the costume. A black wig hung upside down for weeks before we cut various pieces and pulled it back into a ponytail. We topped it off with some detailed face makeup. Allison’s costumes was complied of some mom jeans, white shirt and sweater and table salt to save her from the witches power! The hocus pocus book was handmade using a drawing book, tissue paper, clay, hand sewn clay and a glass eye finished with paint and inked pages made the book look old! It was the topping on the cake and the perfect prop for our hocus pocus themed Halloween!!!! Happy Halloween and thanks for stopping by!!
