Inside Out Family Costume

My family loves to have some creative fun with Halloween every year. Pixar's "Inside Out" has become one of our favorite movies of all time, and we wanted to bring it to life for Halloween.

It was a relatively simple costume to create, actually! We purchased paint from a local shop, found the appropriate wigs online and makeup, and got to work! The Joy and Disgust costumes required the most amount of effort. For Joy, we bought a white dress from thrift store, dyed it green and painted the flowers on top with acrylic paint. For Disgust, we created a belt from felt and colored paper, and we repurposed a pink sash for the neck piece. Everything else we sourced from either clothes we had or items we found around the house, like Fear's wire headpiece.

It was such a simple costume for all of the wonderful reactions it got. We had both kids and adults coming up to us all night. Some kids thought we were the real emotions from the movie come to life!
