Lego Movie Costumes

These were made to be a group costume for my little family. My 5 year old is Emmet, I'm wyldstyle, Wild West version and my husband is Benny the 80s spaceman.

Lots of hard work involved....especially because It is completely made by hand! The whole costume is a product of paper mache, cardboard, spray paint and markers....and lots of manual tedious labor with only a ruler and a box cutter. Imagine what I could do with some machiney!

The how to?! I wish I had one. The idea came from a cool mini figure costume I saw on the Internet. No instructions. So, along with tedious labor cme a lot of brainstorming. Yeah, a lot of first for me. I have never paper mached to this extent, spray painted or stenciled before making these costumes. So, plan to use lot of creative brain power too!

Anyway, after making the first costume, I realized how much work I got myself into so I told my little boy I would probably only making his costume. To which he replied sadly with his head hunched over, "but mommy, I wanted it to be a family costume."

So, here is that product of the love of seeing a smile on my son's face!

I'm a proud mama and yes I'm gonna toot my own horn.....I ROCK!!!!!
