This homemade costume for families entered our 2015 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Maddy, the 'Monsters Inc. Family' costume creator:
I knew I'd probably never be at the perfect stage of pregnancy for Halloween again, so I wanted to incorporate my baby belly into my husband and my costume. We decided on Monster's Inc. because we both are huge fans.
These were completely from scratch. I took an old pair of my husband's white scrubs, dyed them blue, went to the store and bought TONS of blue yarn and some spray adhesive. I cut up the yarn into 3" pieces and glued all over. I made his tail with a DIY tutorial I saw on Pinterest for kids, and just doubled the size to make it fit an adult! I painted my belly green, drew an eyeball, and made Mike!
