This homemade costume for families entered our 2023 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Nancy, the 'Prince and his Hits' costume creator:
Our family costume is Prince and his biggest hits. Who doesn’t love Prince and his music? I bought a purple jacket and added lots of details to give it more of a Prince feel with hair, jewelry, etc. My husband is Purple Rain which I made out of a hat, pillow stuffing, spray paint and felt. My oldest child is Little Red Corvette, which was a car that I covered in felt and made for the song. My middle child is When Doves Cry which is a mask covered in felt, sponge tears I painted blue, and wings. My daughter is Kiss. Her shirt says, “I just want your extra time and your…” and she’s covered in lip stick kisses. The overall cost of the family costume was probably close to $300.
