This homemade costume for girls entered our 2012 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Melissa, the 'Bubble Girl' costume creator:
For my daughters Halloween costume I wanted something original and fun. Last year she was a can of play dough. I then fell in love with the fun childhood favorites. I came up this idea back in August. I was outside blowing bubbles with my little one watching how much fun she was having chasing bubbles around. I thought this would be perfect. I asked her and she was on board. Only request was for it to be purple. So the process then began. I got excited and was sold on the idea. The base of the costume was made of layers of poster board to create the proper look then covered it with fabric. I then used fabric paint for the label. I added some straps and balloons. You can’t tell in the picture but I put glitter on the balloons to give them a bit of a sparkle. The giant bubble wand was a last minute touch. I made it from foam board and spray paint. I bought my Martials four around $15. I always buy more than need so It could be done for less. Over all it was a hit.
