A word from Rocky, the 'Daisy' costume creator:
This is my 5 year old granddaughter and she is a daisy. My daughter Ashley has three children and we kind of wanted to go with a garden creature theme for all three of them. I didn't follow any patterns and most of the materials for the costume were scraps from my craft box. The base of this costume was a leotard. I hand sewed green and yellow tulle to waist of the leotard. I then used green fleece for the top of the costume. I cut the bottom in the shape of leaves and attached more hand cut leaves from the scrap fabric. The head flower head piece is made from egg carton foam that is used for a bed. I cut the flower pattern and spray painted it. It has an elastic band to secure it to her head and it ties at the chin. She also carried a little bumble bee wand. This was made out of wire, scrap fabric, egg carton foam, some fur like fabric, paint, and garden netting for the wings. We completed the costume with green tights. I let the her and my daughter cover it with glitter. I actually made this costume years ago for my daughters. I pulled it out of the attic and remodeled the whole thing for her. She loved it! It was very cool to have this costume worn by two generations!
