A word from Angie, the 'Frozen Ice Castle - Elsa & Anna' costume creator:
Madison(6) is Queen Elsa and her sister Ashlyn (3) is Princess Anna. The idea for the ice castle came from Madison. Both girls knew they wanted to be Elsa and Anna and Madison suggested an ice castle. We began to brainstorm what would be the easiest way to move an ice castle and in order to get both girls on at the same time we had to use a wagon. The entire castle is constructed of heavy duty cardboard, foam board, Home Depot $3 sample paint, glitter, fabric, white scarf yarn, tulle, dollar store snowflakes and a lot of hot glue and imagination. We also knew we needed the entire castle to have the ability to disassemble and be loaded into an SUV. The top of the ice castle screws through the foam board into card board, all sides are hot glued to wooden stakes that come apart, and the front gate is velcroed for convenience. The bottom half of the wagon is covered in a tutu "skirt" and the saying "Sisters Forever" was cut out of clearance sparkle craft paper. No Frozen ice castle would be complete without a hand made Olaf. Olaf's pattern was traced on to 23 cent pieces of felt, cut out, stuffed with pillow stuffing and hot glued together. The girls had a great time helping paint, measure, and assemble their castle. It was every girls Halloween dream come true on a budget.
