A word from Angela, the 'Morton Salt Girl' costume creator:
Norah recently got a short haircut, so we wanted to find a costume that worked with her hair and was original...we thought the Morton Salt Girl was a perfect fit! We already had a yellow dress, we painted a second-hand pair of black mary-janes yellow, and her Dad created her salt canister from a concrete form tube and cardboard that we spray painted black and white. The spout was made from an aluminum soda can that he cut and turned inside out, then shaped and attached it to the canister. I printed nutrition facts and the logo and glued them into place. We purchased the umbrella on eBay. Our costume event was the weekend of Hurricane Patricia, which meant LOTS of rain, so it was the PERFECT costume!
