Mother Nature Costume

My daughter loves Halloween and started designing this costume last year so I had plenty of time to put off how to realize this aspiration of hers. Of course months of procrastination only brought on the fear, anxiety and last minute trips to the craft store but overall I think it all worked out. The design was original, she was happy and so I consider the goal achieved.

The materials for the main outfit were basically a dress we found at Goodwill, a hoop skirt, flowers, and loads of hot glue. The wings were found at a Halloween shop and covered with hot glue and flowers. The tree was from a craft store and hot glued to the wings and also covered with flowers. Some birds and butterflies were thrown in (with more hot glue) to add variety. The positioning of every flower was meticulously instructed by my daughter so the whole project took about every weekend in September to complete.

Oodles of praise and pictures later, my daughter was already starting to plan for Halloween 2018.
