Rainbow Brite Costume

As a child of the 80's I wanted to introduce some of the past to my kids so they could experience the awesome 80's cartoon characters as well. So I decided to dress my daughter, who is 3 years old, up as Rainbow Brite this year, a favorite 80's character of mine. I can't remember the last time I purchased a costume, rather, I have enjoyed making my Halloween costume every year. So doing the same for my daughter is so much fun too! Without a pattern, I started this outfit from scratch sketching it out on paper. The fabrics are polyester and cotton (Walmart) and the fur is just some craft fur from the craft store (Hobby Lobby). I stuffed the arms and leggings with polyfil to make it look more like Rainbow Brite's suit. I used Velcro to close up the back. My daughter loves twirling around in it! It makes all the time I put into it worth it to see her enjoy it so much!
