A word from Heather, the 'Suicide Squad' costume creator:
Harley Quinn-
I have been making the bat for a year now so I could get all the writing right. Used screenshots. Used bat sanded it down, then paint and stencils and sharpies.
Used sharpies on hair extensions and curled with curling iron.
Painted gold on jacket sleeves and hot glued on gold trim.
Used homemade tattoos and makeup. Made safety pin earring. Colored sleeve on shirt with sharpie.
It took over 6 months of hard work to get everything just right. I put my heart and soul into this costume.
Hope you like it. I got the idea to be her because since last year people kept telling me I looked like Harley Quinn every time I wore pigtails.
Poison Ivy-
My daughter Kaylie. I came up with the idea because our family was going to do the Bad Guy villain theme.
I sprayed her hair red.
I made the boots by painting them with green paint then green glitter. I also hot glue gunned leaves to the boots.
I made her shirt by cutting out the back and tying in several knots. I cut hole in front to make torn look and hot glued on leaves. We also used ivy looking stencils with glitter glue. I also used that glue to write poison ivy on the sleeves. I cut holes in sleeves and tied it with green ribbon. Her belt was made of a green tie and glued marble stones in the middle with leaves around it.
I also did her makeup with green on the sides and vines drawn on and also eye and lip makeup.
Lots of hard work to look great!
The Riddler-
my nephew. I made this using a plain green onesie with a hood and green beanie hat. I used black fabric paint for the ? marks and cut the mask down to size.
The Joker-
Tommy my daughter's friend. I made the shirt freehand by drawing it with pencil and Sharpie marker. His mom did his makeup and tattoos. She also spraypainted his leather jacket purple, made his cane with paint and turned his gun into the joker gun with paint.
Clark Kent and Wonder Woman also pictured.
