Ash Ketchum & Squirtle Costume

I sewed both the squirtle costume and Ash Vest.

The squirtle (my niece) is made of fleece and using an ordinary pattern for a romper from McCalls. The shell backed with cardboard and hook and loop to attach to little's back. I also have straps from the front belly cover to the back to help hold the shell.

Ash's (my son) is quite simple yard of fabric into 3 parts one large and two smalls. Used bias tape for the the embellishments. Used an old shirt to pattern sleeves and collar.

Thiss idea came from us being giant geeks growing up and teaching our son and niece right!
