A word from Martha, the 'Campers, S'more and a Live Coal' costume creator:
My rabbit, hamster sister and I are wearing the costumes. My sister and I are campers and I have a rabbit s'more and she has the fire that cooked it. Inside the fire I made out of wire, cardboard and sticks, is a little cage for the hamster. He is black like coal and named Midnight. He is also missing his back foot. My rabbit is sitting on a foam cushion covered with brown fabric that is sandwiched between two boards painted, chiseled, and drilled to look like graham crackers. The are held up by four dowels so that the rabbit (Patricia) isn't squished. The only part of the costume that cost me anything was the matching T-shirts from a thrift store. Everything else I found around my house. I sewed felt to the shirts and painted "Critter Creek Camp, Est. 1989" on them. The hats have badges on them made of felt that say, Fire Master and S'more Expert. We had the jumbo roasting fork from our camping trip and I added the backpack with marshmallows and graham crackers to complete the picture. My sister asked me this summer what I was going to dress Patricia as for Halloween and I blurted out "a S'more!!!" Because she was so fluffy and her ears have a little grey on them.
