I would like to submit my costume for the Most Creative Contest.
This is my 3 year old SONshine. I always like to stand-out of the crowd. So, for Halloween I just knew I couldn't have him wear a store-bought costume that someone else might wear. I was brainstorming one night. I thought of how I'd call him a little mouse. I would call him that because I'd wake up hearing a bunch of noise and things rattling. I really got scared and each time I'd see my baby was there in the midst of all my stuff opening up everything he could, lol. I was so happy that it was not a real mouse!! So, I wanted him to be dressed up as a mouse, yes. But, so plain? I didn't like it. I started to think of any famouse mouse. And, that's how I thought up Chuck E. Cheese! Where a kid, can be a kid! So, I bought a mouse costume at one of my local stores. That cost me about $35. Everything else, I had to customize it. I was on the hunt for a small hat to fit on the little space between Chuck E.'s ears. I ended up finally finding one at Petco! Lol. It was a hat for a puppy. I got so lucky that since it didn't have a price tag on it, they marked it for only $2! So, I sowed the hat onto the plain mouse costume. Since I didn't find the hat in the matching colors I needed, I bought green and purple felt to cut-out and hot glue onto the hat. That cost me about $2. I also needed light pink felt to add to the ears. That was about 50cents. I bought a purple t-shirt for $5, and blue shorts for $5(I wanted green, but couldn't find due to shorts being extinct on winter time). I got foam squares from the Dollar store for $1, which I drew and cut-out the letter C to hot-glue on the front of the shirt. For another $1, I bought a book full of foam letter stickers, because I could not trust my self to draw that many letters and look readable (I'm not a good drawer). I hot-glued those letters on the back of the shirt to say "Where a kid can be a kid!" In case, some people wouldn't recognize his costume, I figured everyone knew the catchphrase! I bought a pack of hot glue sticks for $1 to glue all that. I cut a hole in the back of his shorts, so the tail could stick out. And there you go. With tax included, I probably spent a total of $55. If I did my math right.
